The Beginning of Harbor Covenant Church

Harbor Covenant Church began in 1980 when a group from First Covenant Church in Tacoma joined to “plant” a new church in Gig Harbor. We were organized in 1981 as a mission congregation of the North Pacific Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church.

What We Believe

Harbor Covenant Church is a congregation of the Evangelical Covenant Church, which has these 6 affirmations that define our life together:

  1. We affirm the centrality of the word of God.
  2. We affirm the necessity of the new birth.
  3. We affirm a commitment to the whole mission of the Church.
  4. We affirm the Church as a fellowship of believers.
  5. We affirm a conscious dependence on the Holy Spirit.
  6. We affirm the reality of freedom in Christ.

Sundays

8:30 am & 10:00 am

  • You'll be lead in singing by a live band that explores fresh expressions of worship while also gleaning from the past.
  • You'll hear a sermon given by Pastor Michael or another member of the pastoral staff that will inspire and challenge you.
  • We'll pray for the needs of our community and our world and share communion each week.
  • At both services, children (birth – three years old) have a fun and safe nursery program in an engaging space
  • At both services, kids (PreK-5th grade) have a fun and safe program with their own singing and lesson
  • At the 10:00am service only, teenagers (6th-12th grade) have their own worship gathering in the youth room (except the first Sunday of each month)
