When your friends describe you, which would they talk about most, your brand of politics or your faith? What is an area of your life where you are more like the culture than the kingdom? What is an area of your life where you are more like the kingdom than the culture?
What words would people use to describe you? What do those words say about the fruit you are producing? How closely would you say your priorities align with the plan and purpose of God?
Where are you tempted to engage in status boosting? Who models “welcome” to you? How can you put into practice “welcome” this week?
What do you really want from God? Are you a cultural Christian, a comfortable Christian, or a serious follower of Jesus? What is one thing you can do this week to becoming a more serious follower of Jesus?
If you had to make a list of the top three things Jesus followers should do, what would be on the list? What is a preference in your life that you may have made too important? Are you leading the people around you toward Jesus or toward something else?
What are your expectations when you come to church? When has legalism gotten in the way of your faith or someone else’s faith? What is one thing you are willing to try to let go of to love someone this week?
What is your purpose in life? What do you need to reprioritize in your life to more fully follow Jesus? What one thing can you do to be on mission in your daily life?
What is one way that you see God at work in your life, sphere of influence or community? What is one thing that you wish Jesus would do that he doesn’t seem to be doing? What is the most challenging part of following Jesus in this context for you.
What are you afraid would happen if you gave Jesus the authority in your life? How would it affect your daily life if you truly believed that Jesus was Lord now. What is one thing you can do this week to let Jesus lead in your life?
